Voorlinden Museum & Gardens, Wassenaar, The Netherlands
From 8 October 2022 to 29 January 2023
The large retrospective at Museum Voorlinden is an immersive journey through the artist's work, focusing on sensory experience of sight, touch and smell, revealing the intimate connection of Giuseppe Penone's sculptural language with nature and its processes. One of the emblematic installations, Sculture di linfa (Lymph Sculptures) conceived for the 52nd Venice Biennale in 2007, is presented here again alongside iconic works from Svolgere la propria pelle [To Unroll One's Skin], to the Soffi [Breaths], to his debarked Trees, to Respirare l’ombra [To Breath the Shadow] and Spazio di luce [Space of Light] in a sequence of striking rooms, as well with outdoor creations such as Equivalenze [Equivalences] and Albero folgorato [Thunderstruck Tree].
