ITALICS | Panorama Monferrato
Camagna, Vignale, Montemagno and Castagnole (Piedmont, Italy)
4 - 8 September 2024
We are pleased to announce aour participation in Panorama Monferrato featuring the work Passi 2024, Ex Asilo Regina Elena by Alfredo Pirri at the Ex Asilo Regina Elena (Via al Castello 68) in Castagnole Monferrato.
After Procida, Monopoli and L'Aquila, ITALICS brings to the Monferrato area of Piedmont the fourth edition of Panorama, the region-wide exhibition that since 2021, on an annual basis, has been connecting architecture, art and landscape with the territory and its communities. Curated by Carlo Falciani, from 4 to 8 September 2024, Panorama Monferrato will offer an exhibition itinerary that winds through vineyards, castles and parish churches, inhabiting the villages of Camagna Monferrato, Vignale Monferrato, Montemagno Monferrato and Castagnole Monferrato for five days. An unprecedented narrative is being created, one that brings together the ancient, modern and contemporary in an itinerary that will once again take visitors on a journey in an extraordinary corner of Italy. With the participation of 62 ITALICS galleries and featuring contemporary works – many of which will be site-specific or produced ad hoc – but also 20th-century works and great Renaissance masterpieces, Panorama Monferrato is inspired by the principles of La civil conversazione (The Civil Conversation), a text written by Stefano Guazzo and published in 1574. At the time, it became a European best seller in Tudor England as well as in Montaigne’s France. It shows how some ideas that originated in Monferrato were fundamental for Europe between the 16th and 17th centuries.
