RICHARD LONG
Walking, leaving traces, organising simple forms: circles, lines, ellipses, using what the territory offers him. Making art by walking and organising the elements of nature should be considered as a self-portrait of the artist’s history, self-portrait of the history of man.
Primary elements: stone, wood and mud which, put together by the sculptor’s energy, belong to every place on earth, open spaces on the territory or spaces “architected” by man, geometrical forms that make us raise our eyes towards that infinite system which is the universe.
